What percentage does LoadMo pay owner-operators?
86% of the gross revenue on every load; LoadMo keeps 14%. Gross means the linehaul and the fuel surcharge together. Settlements are paid every Friday by direct deposit, or the same day your POD is in if you take the 5% quick pay.
Is the 86% based on linehaul only, or the whole invoice?
86% of the gross shown on the rate confirmation — linehaul and fuel surcharge together — and you see that rate confirmation before you accept the load, so the number you are paid on is the number you saw. Accessorials are not split at all: detention, layover, TONU, stop-off pay and lumper reimbursement come to you at 100%.
Do you show the rate confirmation?
Yes, before every load. An owner-operator paid a percentage is entitled to the rated freight bill under 49 CFR 376.12(g); we send it up front instead of waiting to be asked.
What are the weekly deductions?
Cargo and liability insurance $350, trailer rental $200 (optional), admin fee $100 — $650 a week. Escrow adds $250 a week for the first 10 weeks only, capped at $2,500. Nothing else is deducted.
Do I have to rent your trailer?
No. If you have your own 53-foot dry van, run it and the $200 disappears from your settlement. Renting ours includes maintenance and tires.
How does the escrow work and when do I get it back?
$250 a week for the first 10 weeks, to a $2,500 maximum, then it stops. It covers chargebacks and claims on your own account only, it is accounted for on your settlements, and the balance is returned within 45 days of termination with a final accounting.
When do I get paid?
Every Friday by direct deposit, on paperwork received. If you want it sooner, quick pay settles the same day your POD is in for a 5% fee — your choice, load by load. Either way your settlement is not contingent on the broker paying us.
Is there forced dispatch?
No. You may decline any load, and declining does not change what you are offered next.
What kind of freight and what lanes?
Dry van only, no-touch, regional and over-the-road. Tina will tell you what has actually been running out of your home state rather than showing you a map of the whole country.
How often will I be home?
On the regional program, 2,000–2,600 loaded miles a week and home weekly. On OTR, 2,800–3,400 miles a week and home every two to three weeks. Those are typical weeks, not promises — freight moves.
Do I need my own authority?
No. You run under LoadMo's USDOT 4364163 / MC 1708262 on a written lease that complies with 49 CFR Part 376. If you already hold your own authority you can leave it inactive; you do not have to revoke it.
Do I need an LLC?
Yes. You are contracting as a business and you will be paid on a 1099, so an LLC or corporation with an EIN is required.
Am I an employee?
No. You are an independent contractor operating your own equipment. You choose which loads to accept, you may decline any load, and you may run for others.
What insurance do you carry, and what do I carry?
LoadMo carries $1,000,000 auto liability and $100,000 cargo while you are under dispatch — that is the $350 weekly line. You carry physical damage on your own tractor. We do not require occupational accident or non-trucking liability coverage, but you are a contractor with no workers' comp behind you, so most operators carry both.
What happens if there is a cargo claim?
The claim goes against LoadMo's cargo policy. Your exposure is the $2,500 deductible, which is exactly what the escrow reserve is sized for.
Do you provide the ELD and PrePass?
Yes, both, at no charge. They ship to you before your first load.
Is there a charge for orientation?
No. Orientation is online, takes about two hours, and costs you nothing — no travel and no hotel.
How long does it take to get started?
Two to three days from the first call for most operators, assuming your documents are in order and the drug test comes back clean.
Can I see the lease agreement before I apply?
Yes. Ask Tina on the first call and we will email the full lease. Read it, and have someone else read it too.
How long has LoadMo been operating?
LoadMo, LLC was formed in Ohio on 14 February 2025 and has operated under its own authority since. USDOT 4364163, MC 1708262 — pull the FMCSA snapshot before you call us.
Can I get an advance on a load?
Yes. Once a load is booked you can draw up to 40% of it as a cash or fuel advance for a flat $15–25 fee. The advance comes off that load's settlement.
Is there a fuel card, and how much does it save?
Yes. The discount runs roughly 10–25 cents per gallon depending on the network and where you fuel, and we do not mark the card up — what we get, you get.
Do I need occupational accident or bobtail coverage?
We do not require either one. LoadMo's liability and cargo cover you while you are under dispatch; they do not cover you bobtail on personal use, and as a contractor there is no workers' comp behind you. Most operators carry both, and we will not deduct for them.
Do you factor your invoices?
Yes, through Triumph. It means our cash does not depend on a broker's payment terms, which is why your Friday settlement does not either.
What if I want to leave?
Give written notice per the lease, return the trailer and the ELD, and your escrow balance is returned within 45 days with a final accounting. We would rather you tell us what went wrong first.
Do you do lease-purchase or finance trucks?
No. We do not sell trucks, finance trucks, or put you on a payment to us. You own your tractor.
Will you ever ask me for money?
No. No application fee, no orientation fee, no deposit, no recruiting fee. Anyone in trucking who asks you to pay to get hired is not hiring you.
